VISUAL DNA translates the gene code of different
organisms into graphic pattern

The DNA code is the architect's plan of life and consists of only four letters. It can amount to millions of figures and is developed extremely different with each organism. These differences can hardly be recognized with the naked eye due to the code complexity. VISUAL DNA analyzes the source code and interprets it by colors and graphical signs. Thus an individual, aesthetic and unmistakable pattern for each organism develops.   Two things are to be emphasized by this assignment. Complex information is easier distinguishable by using a suitable graphic interpretation and on the other hand this project would like to point out, that different angles of perspective can produce completely new results and occasionally also enhance experiences.

Mode of operation
VISUAL DNA does not change the source gene code. It just interprets it in a graphical way. The codes used show the first 1050 positions of the first chromosome. From this code four positions are analyzed. Based on these results for the four letters (A, C, G, T) of a pool by 28 figures, four figures are calculated. The color of these figures is calculated likewise.

In order to show that no very large quantity of these symbols is necessary to generate nevertheless most different patterns, the pool was limited to 28 co-ordinated symbols. Likewise the indications’ color is calculated, whereas however 16.7 million colours are possible.

  Due the variety of the gene codes and the multiplicity of the possible figures/ color combinations, a pattern for different organisms will probably never repeat itself.

The gene codes originate from the "National Center for Biotechnology Information". It is considered the largest freely accessible gene data base of the world.
